IMAer Nathan Fitch in Micronesia News
IMA student Nathan Fitch is currently doing research and working in Micronesia, and blogging as micronesiaproject.org. Project Micronesia is a documentary investigation into cultural identity of the island of Kosrae using video, photo and oral history to examine the rapidly changing island culture. This website and it’s content has been financed (in part) with Historic Preservation Funds from the National Park Service. Nathan’s most recent contribution to local (skateboarding) culture drew notice in the Kosrae press. IMA’s Julia Haslett in IDFA Amsterdam Competition

IMA student Julia Haslett’s feature documentary An Interview with Simone Weil is in open competition at the International Documentary Festival Amsterdam, one of Europe’s premiere venues for documentary film. The 85 minute film follows Julia’s travels through the life and thought of the French philosopher as she interrogates her work for a route to encountering the suffering of others.

IMA REEL DIALOGUE features RFK Doc

IMA Fall Gathering Swings From the Vine

Where: Hunter North 436 AKA “The TV Studio”
A chance to meet IMA faculty, not to mention other IMA students, and talk about the program, the curriculum, new directions, and more.
Note: Historically the gathering has has a focus on people interested in joining the IMA as well as current students. Professor Steve Gorelick has developed a separate set of such meeting for this Fall. While anyone interested in the IMA is welcome, the Gathering will be an informal event primarily for current students.
Refreshments will be served.
